After working on this project for the last few weeks we have finally presented it and I’m happy with how it went. Half go our grade went towards this presentation and all our classes had been based off the lead up to this project.
As part of our preparation, me and my team became more head on towards the final weeks of the project. I believe it’s when we truly realised we need to put our heads together and plan a project that would be pleasing to both us and our audience. To be completely honest I would say our group did have somewhat of a rough patch at the start, main members were often busy, whether it was work, school or exams and the time differences between turkey and Ireland didn’t help either. We often found ourselves not communicating nor making any progress in the project, but once me and a few other took the lead in our group chat and began assigning roles and explaining what needed to be done, it was like a whole 180 turn.
I believe our team presentation went well as we each were very clear and precise in our presentation. Everyone spoke well and explained their items of sustainability thoroughly. the audience seemed engaged, maintaining there interest showing that my team members and I conveyed our topic very well. As our project was focusing on IKEA’s sustainability, we focused on the key points and how they linked in with the project topic.
Our team worked very well together in gathering the information and building. Though our team was split into two groups one for researching and one for building, we were always helping each other on both levels. Nothing was done alone or without the help of others and I believe that is why our project was so successful. Our group had many channels of communication, such as WhatsApp and SecondLife where we would often meet up to discuss our plans and ideas and collaborate on them. Everyone’s opinion was always heard and considered.
I do believe we met most of the objectives outlined at the beginning of the project. We made use of building, making a nice scenic farm with lots of sustainable furniture, as well as use of photographs and other appropriate images such as graphs and drawings to further explain our project theme.
Overall I am happy with how the project went and enjoyed the module and its exploring the different outlooks of the virtual world.
